Golfers at The Habitat and Spessard Holland,

We are so thankful for your continued support and want to reassure you that we are doing everything in our power to provide you a safe and sanitary experience at both courses.

Moving forward we will be implementing a single rider rule as we continue to follow the recommendations from state and federal officials. This means that all golfers who choose to ride will be given a cart for their use only. The only exception to this rule is for members of the same household. While this will create an increased demand for carts we are taking steps to increase the availability of carts, but ask for your patience as we implement this new policy.

As always golfers who choose to walk will be able to do so and we ask that all golfers, whether walking or riding, continue to observe proper social distancing throughout the course.

An additional step we are taking for the safety of our golfers and staff is to create space in our tee sheet. This will allow us the best opportunity to make sure all golfers are able to get on the course when they want to and how they want to.

Though we are not currently offering tee times online, we ask that you please call the pro shops in advance to ensure availability and so that we can best serve you.

We are thankful for the opportunity to continue to provide golf to all who are able to play and we look forward to seeing you at The Habitat and Spessard Holland.

General Manager / Director of Golf

To all our Loyal golfers at The Habitat and Spessard Holland a quick note to update you on the golf courses.

We will continue to stay open to provide you with a place to play. The staff has done an incredible job keeping things safe, clean, and most of all a positive place to be. I personally want to thank each and every one of them for standing the post and helping you enjoy your round. As you know we can only do so much to help you! I also want to thank all of our golfers for their continued support and for doing their part in following the CDC guidelines when you do come out and play.

The following information is from the Surgeon General and the Governor with regards to our 65 and older golfers. I felt, as did some others, that it was important information for you to read and see on our platforms. I believe if we all do what is asked and continue to be safe and diligent then we can continue to offer golf to everyone on the Space and Treasure Coasts, for the continued future.

On Tuesday March 24th 2020, Florida Surgeon General Scott Rivkees and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recommended all Floridians aged 65 and older and Floridians with underlying health conditions such as heart disease, lung disease, and cancer, remain home for a two week period. While this is not a mandatory stay at home order like so many other states have issued, it is strongly recommended for the health and safety of all Floridians.

Best Regards,

Mike Yurigan

Golfers at The Habitat and Spessard Holland,
We are continuing to monitor the situation as it unfolds in our community. In order to continue full golf operation, we have made the decision to close our food and beverage operations for the time being. We will continue to offer bottled water and bottled soft drinks in the pro shop for sale and we ask that you do not bring any alcoholic beverages on to either property.
We are continuing our efforts to keep both courses safe and sanitary for your enjoyment. Starting tomorrow we will be flipping the cups upside down and we ask that you continue to refrain from touching the flag.
We thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you on the course.

Golfers at The Habitat and Spessard Holland,
We wanted to take a minute to keep you informed of everything happening at the courses. Both courses are open for play and we are doing everything possible to ensure that you will continue to be able to enjoy both courses in a safe and sanitary environment.

One step we are taking to do that is lifting the restriction on single riders in a cart. If you choose to do so, you are able to play with one person per cart. While this will create a higher demand for carts at both courses, we are working on possible solutions to make sure everyone who wants to play, can play. If you wish to bring your own cart you can, please just check in with the pro shop before using it on the course.

One of the best ways to practice proper social distancing is to walk while you play. At 4978 yards and a par of 67, Spessard Holland is a great option for those of you who want to get out and stretch your legs a little extra while you play. We are lifting all restrictions on walking so if you want to walk, you can!

We are suspending our online tee time booking for the time being and ask that you call the pro shops to make a tee time. This will allow us to make sure that you are able to get on the course in an efficient manner.

Both courses will continue to offer a limited food and beverage menu, but we will no longer be offering food service indoors. At The Habitat we will make use of our walk-up window and at Spessard Holland we will continue to bring your food outdoors for you to enjoy.

We will continue to use an extra level of sanitization and safety at both courses to ensure your safety as well as the safety of our staff.

We ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate this situation. Though this situation is changing daily our purpose remains the same, preserving public golf in Brevard County.

We thank you for your support and cooperation during this time and will continue to provide updates on our websites and social media pages.

Golfers at The Habitat and Spessard Holland,

Here are a few things we are doing as well as a few things you can do to help us continue to address the ongoing changes happening in our community.

First, we have removed all the rakes from the bunkers on both courses so play on as you normally would and we will take care of them.

Second, we ask that you please take advantage of last years rule change and leave the pin in. Additionally we ask that you carry this same mindset throughout the course and abstain from touching surface areas as much as possible. We are sanitizing all areas of each golf cart as we wash them.

Finally, we have made a few changes to our food service to ensure we are following the recommended sanitary practices. We have closed the indoor dining areas and are asking that you take advantage of our outdoor seating options. We also ask that you call in your food orders in advance to allow us to serve you as soon as possible.

We will remain open for play and hope to see you at the courses!

For additional updates please stay tuned to our website and social media pages.

To all Golfers at The Habitat and Spessard Holland,

We want to first start out by saying thank you for your support at both courses. We are proud of the work we have done at both courses and know that without your support, none of this would be possible. Though we are facing uncertainty in our daily lives, we hope to provide a place of comfort and enjoyment to you by continuing to make public golf accessible in Brevard County. In order to do this we must adjust due to the circumstances outside of our control to ensure your safety as well as the safety of our staff.

Moving forward the food and beverage at both The Habitat and Spessard Holland will continue, but with a limited menu. We ask that you enjoy the wonderful Florida weather we are currently experiencing by making use of the outside seating options we have available. Though we all know golf is truly a social game and is best experienced together, we ask that you use proper social distancing for the time being.

Our staff is working diligently to ensure that both courses are clean environments and we will continue to follow Federal and State recommendations for proper hygiene throughout the properties.

We will continue to provide updates on everything happening at The Habitat and Spessard Holland through our website and social media outlets.

Thank You.
